Rockhurst falls to UMSL in GLVC Tournament

Taylor Skala led the Hawks with eight points in the GLVC Tournament.
Box Score Rockhurst's first trip to the Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament ended in the first round against the fifth-seeded Missouri-St. Louis Tritons. The Hawks fell behind by 13 at halftime and USML dominated inside in the second half to pull away for a 73-41 victory Sunday in St. Louis.

The 12th-seeded Hawks end the season with 9-18 record. UMSL (21-6) will face fourth-seeded Indianapolis on Thursday in the quarterfinals of the GLVC Tournament in Evansville, Ind.

Taylor Skala led the Hawks with eight points and three assists. Mary Dineen scored seven points on one-of-four shooting. Haleigh Cindrich finished with six points, five rebounds and two blocked shots.

Four players scored in double figures for the Tritons, who shot 50 percent from the field (27 of 54). The Hawks were held to 26.7 percent shooting from the field (16 of 60) and were outscored 36-16 in the paint.

Missouri-St. Louis has won seven straight in the series and holds a 15-7 advantage in the all-time series.
