Southern Indiana posted a 5-3 victory over Rockhurst in the first round of the Great Lakes Valley Conference Championships Friday in St. Louis. The loss drops the Hawks' record to 9-6.
Daniel Chmielewski and
Joey Fischer combined to win in No. 3 doubles by an 8-3 score. The Hawks lost the other two doubles matches by 8-6 scores. Daniel Chmielewski captured his No. 5 singles match, 6-4, 6-1.
Decho Valev won in No. 6 singles, 6-1, 6-0.
