Box Score Rockhurst defeated Missouri-St. Louis, 3-0, in the first round of the Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament on Sunday at RU's Bourke Field to earn a ticket to the semifinals of the GLVC Tournament.

The Hawks, 13-3-2, will now face top-seeded Quincy at 7:30 p.m. Friday in a semifinal-round match. Rockhurst shut out Quincy 2-0 earlier this season at Quincy.

Nick McDonald, Mark Magee and Paolo Scoppola scored goals in the win over UMSL. McDonald made a six-yarder, assisted by Jake Grimes and George Skevington, in the 20th minute. Magee tallied his team-high 11th goal of the season on a 15-yard shot off a pass from Sean Verbanic in the 53rd minute. Scoppola capped the scoring with a highlight-reel shot from 25 yards out in the 71st minute.

McDonald, Verbanic and Magee led the Hawks with four shots apiece. Senior keeper Ryan Bass made six saves.
