Hawks capture fourth GLVC Men's Soccer Championship

Box Score The fourth-seeded Rockhurst Hawks shut out No. 2 seed Indianapolis 2-0 Sunday in Quincy, Ill., to capture their second consecutive and fourth overall Great Lakes Valley Conference Men's Soccer Championship.

The Hawks, 15-3-2, will await the announcement of the NCAA Division II Men's Soccer Tournament pairings at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 11. The pairings can be seen at

Jon Schreiber and Mark Magee scored goals early in the second half to lead Rockhurst past Indianapolis. Schreiber scored his fourth goal of the season in the 47th minute on a header off a pass from Magee. Six minutes later, Magee knocked in a penalty kick for his 13th goal of the season to give the Hawks a two-goal cushion.

Rockhurst outshot the Greyhounds 15-6. Magee led the Hawks with three shots. Senior keeper Ryan Bass stopped three Indianapolis shots.

The Hawks have now won GLVC titles in men's soccer in 2005, 2008, 2012 and 2013.
